Mly operation outcome of agreement: Baloch

GUJRAT, Nov 19: Jamaat-i-Islami provincial amir Liaquat Baloch has alleged that the lion-heart military operation is the outcome of a ‘fresh agreement’.

Speaking at the oath-taking ceremony of the party office-bearers in Gujrat on Wednesday, he said: “The allied forces are still launching missile attacks in Pakistan despite a resolution against it by parliament. The government has kept parliament and the public in the dark.”

Mr Baloch accused the PPP of giving a protocol to former president Pervez Musharraf instead of doing away with his undemocratic decisions. He said the PPP had lost chance of telling the world that the democratic government had rejected the policies of dictators.

Tagging the Senate toothless, he said it could not seek explanation from the government for borrowing loan from the International Monetary Fund which was suggesting taxation on the already weak agriculture sector.

“Pakistan is beset with internal and external challenges, but the PPP has exposed them by backing out of its commitments.”

He alleged that the sugar mafia, which includes the president and other top government functionaries, were selling the product to the trading corporation at Rs37 a kilo instead of the official rate of Rs24.70. The JI leader questioned the government’s inaction in exposing the names of ‘big fish’ that had sent billions of dollars out of Pakistan; the people wanted to know the names of those who were involved in money laundering.

A cheque for Rs200,000 as donation for the earthquake victims of Balochistan was handed over to Liaquat Baloch.
