PM assures top security for India series

ISLAMABAD, Nov 20: Ijaz Butt, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), called on Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani here on Thursday.

During the meeting Ijaz told the prime minister that the organisation is massively over-staffed with very high administrative costs, which has put severe burden on the PCB’s financial resources.

The PCB chief also briefed the prime minister about the amendments being proposed in the PCB constitution.

The prime minister said that the government will ensure top security arrangements for the PCB that will be organising the forthcoming series against India.

Stressing that the game of cricket enjoys equal love both in Pakistan and India, Gilani said he would request Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to allow the Indian team to visit Pakistan in January-February.
