BCCI wants Lloyd’s ouster from ICC panel

NEW DELHI, Nov 21: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly asked the ICC to remove former West Indian captain Clive Lloyd from the chairman’s post of the governing council’s cricketing committee following his remarks over the Indian Premier League and Indian Cricket League in a recent function in Mumbai.

Lloyd had expressed hope that the two Twenty20 leagues could co-exist.

The former West Indian great, who has replaced Sunil Gavaskar as the head of the ICC’s cricket committee, added, “Leagues similar to the IPL and ICL will not only bring young talented players in the national team but will also make their basics clear.”
