Five held for illegal entry into country

UMERKOT, Nov 23: The Pakistan Rangers arrested four Bangladeshis and a Pakistani national at Khokhrapar-Munabao border on Sunday.

Police sources said that the 62 Wing of Qasim Rangers arrested the four foriegners and a Pakistani who had illegally crossed over into Pakistan from India through Khokhrapar-Munabao border at pillar No 816, while one of them identified as Qasim managed to escape.

The arrested included Waqar Ahmed son of Shakir Din, resident of Behover Village, Sialkot, and four Bangladeshi nationals viz; Mohammad Gilaf son of Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Majid son of Akbar Ali, Mohammad Bilal son of Samiullah and Mohammad Gulzar son of Abdul Wali.

The Rangers handed them over to the Khokhrapar police where a formal FIR was registered under section 14 Foreigner Act, on the complaint of Hawaldar Khalid.

Talking to Dawn at Umerkot police lock-up, Waqar said that he had gone to Turkey illegally through an agent as a labour a year ago where about eight months later, he was nabbed and deported with one Majid of Bangladesh.

He said later he reached Bangladesh, from where he along with four Bengalis tried to enter into Pakistan and were arrested.
