Pims ED, SHO, put on notice in ‘rape’ case

ISLAMABAD, Nov 27: The Islamabad High Court Chief Justice on Thursday issued notices to the Executive Director Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Shalimar police station for not conducting medical examination of a ‘rape’ victim.

The 12-year-old girl (NP) through her lawyer Barrister Masroor Shah has filed a petition in the IHC that the Pims authorities should be directed to conduct her medical examination. The girl was gang raped allegedly by three boys in sector G-11/2.

The victim from Okara maintained that she was a hapless girl as her mother had died and father untraceable. She had been serving as a maid in a house in Sector G-11/2.

On November 22 at about 6pm when she came out of the house, a boy living in the neighbourhood abducted her and took her to a deserted place where two other boys joined him and raped her, she alleged.

She further stated that her employer took her to the police station and Pims but the doctor on duty refused to examine her on the pretext that she was not accompanied by any of her blood relatives despite the fact she was accompanied by a lady constable.
