Dania, Monisha qualify for badminton final

LAHORE, Nov 28: Dania Khan defeated Anila in the girls’ under-19 semi-final of the National Junior badminton championship at the New Khan hall here on Saturday.

In the other semi-final, Monisha Kotiya proved too good for Sumaira, defeating her 21-12, 21-19.

The pairs of Sama / Saba Rasheed and and Dania / Anum entered the doubles final.

Sama and Saba Rasheed (Sindh) beat Fareeha Imtiaz and Hira Tahir (Punjab) 21-12, 20-22, 21-15 while Dania-Anum (Punjab) overcame Sofia Mughal-Tahira (Sindh) 21-9, 21-14.

Girls’ U-19 singles semi-finals: Dania Khan (Punjab) bt Anila (Railway) 21-9, 21-14; Monisha Kotiya (Sindh) bt Sumaira (Railway) 21-12, 21-19.

Girls’ U-16 singles semi-finals: Sama Asif (Sindh) bt Fareeha Imtiaz (Punjab) 21-10, 20-22, 21-14; Marina Khan (Balochistan) got walkover against Anila Arshad (Railways).
