Over 30 police stations without phone

JACOBABAD, Nov 30: More than 30 police stations in Jacobabad and Kashmore-Kandhkot districts are without telephones.

According to a survey conducted by this correspondent, villagers living near these police stations have repeatedly complained that in case of an emergency or crime they are unable to contact police of their area and as a result, criminals escape and police do not get timely information about the crimes.

A villager complained that his house was robbed of jewellery and other valuables, but he failed to immediately contact the nearby police station because there was no phone at the police station.

Police reached the site of the crime late and the robbers escaped.

The villagers have to appealed the Provincial Police Officer (PPO) to take notice of the situation and instal landline telephones connections at the police stations.

In the district of Jacobabad, there are no telephones at the Meranpur Buriro, Mohammadpur Odho, Dodapur, Mouladad, Abad, Bahu Khoso, Mubarakpur, Garhi Hassan, Dil Murad and RD-44 police stations.

In the district of Kashmore-Kandhkot, Ghouspur, Sarki PS, RD-27 Mail, Jeyalpur, Haji Khan, Shar Khan, Ghora Ghat, Gublo, Miani, Badani, Durrani Mahar, RD-9, Risaldar, Bhittai Colony and other police stations are without phone connections also face a similar situation.
