Police officials suspended for poor performance
RAWALPINDI, Nov 30: Regional Police Officer Nasir Khan Durrani has suspended a number of police officials on the charges of poor performance and negligence.
He took this action during his surprise visit to RA Bazar police station where he inspected the lockup and police record.
Later, SDPO Cantonment Raja Abdul Hafeez and SSP Operations Sardar Muhammad Maqsood reached the police station after knowing about the visit.
During the inspection, the RPO observed that in a number of narcotics and illicit arms cases, the recovered items had not been deposited in the police store.
He appointed Deputy Superintendent of Police Investigation Sultan Mehmood Chadhar to hold an enquiry into the matter and submit his report.
The RPO said in a number of crime cases, the weapons were not recovered resulting in delay in the prosecution of cases were weakened.
This matter was also assigned to the DSP Investigation for enquiry.
He also observed that performance of number of officers was not satisfactory and was much below the minimum acceptable level.
He suspended SIs Hasnat Ahmed and Muhammad Riaz, ASIs Khalid Mehmood, Bostan Khan, Khurram Shehzad and Mazhar Iqbal and directed hem to report to Police Lines immediately.
The SSP Operations was directed to initiate disciplinary action against them and finalise the proceedings within two weeks. However, the RPO awarded CC-II certificate and Rs1,000 working to Sub-Inspector Muhammad Akram for his good performance.
The RPO showed his displeasure over the performance SHO of the police station.
He also suspended 13 constables for being absent from their duty.
