Landmine kills two proclaimed offenders

QUETTA, Dec 2: Two proclaimed offenders were killed when a landmine exploded in the Hamidpur area of Jaffarabad district on Tuesday.

According to police, the landmine had been planted near Jumal Bugti village near Dera Allahyar.

The two men, identified as Abdul Latif Sundarni Bugti and Qadir Bakhsh, were on a motorbike which hit the mine.

They were seriously injured and were taken to the Civil Hospital in Dera Allahyar where they died.

Police said that the two were wanted in case related to an ambush three years ago in which DIG of Sibi Range Abdul Aziz Bullo had been killed.

They escaped after the attack and a local court had declared them proclaimed offenders.

Sources said that police had defused another landmine in the same area.

Engineer kidnapped in Chaman

A Pakistani engineer was kidnapped near the border town of Chaman when he was returning from Afghanistan on Tuesday.

He was identified as Nasaruddin, from Bahawalpur, who was working with a Japanese construction company in Afghanistan.

Police said when he reached near the Chaman grid station, armed men in a vehicle intercepted his jeep and took him away, leaving behind the jeep and driver.

Meanwhile, Pakistani border authorities handed over to Afghan officials 110 of their nationals after they were released from the Panjgur jail.

The Afghan nationals had been arrested by Pakistani forces for entering into Pakistan illegally.
