ISLAMABAD, Dec 8: Writers and intellectuals of the twin cities have condemned Indian government for denying visa to eminent writers invited to attend the Nazir Akbarabadi conference being held in Delhi.

They said writers and intellectuals are messengers of love and peace and denying them visa meant blocking the lofty ideals.

Yadgar-i-Ghalib Academy of India had invited poet Kishwar Nahid and writers Dr Aslam Farrukhi, Intezar Hussain and Asghar Nadeem Syed but apparently were unwelcome to the Indian authorities in the wake of tensions raised by the terrorist attacks in Mumbai.
