BADIN, Dec 16: Journalists of Badin district took out a rally in Golarchi on Tuesday to express solidarity with then detained Iraqi journalist Muntazer al-Zaidi, who had hurled his shoes at US President George W. Bush during a recent press conference in Baghdad.

Carrying banners and placards and led by Mehruddin Mari, Mohammad Hanif Zai, Haji Ghulam Sarwar, Haji Ghulam Mustafa Memon, Feroze Alam and others, they marched on the main road of the town. They were demanding immediate release of the Iraqi journalist.

Later, the journalists Feroze Alam, Hanif Zai, Mehruddin Mari and others speaking at the gathering in front of the Golarchi press club, termed US President as enemy of peace and Islam.

They alleged that President Bush had unleashed terror in Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine and other Muslim countries. They called the Iraqi journalist a hero and demanded his release.
