KARACHI: Man, son shot dead in Nazimabad

KARACHI, Dec 19: A man and his son were shot dead in Nazimabad on Friday.

Police said that Gulab Khan, 50, and his 18-year-old son, Dawood, were sitting outside Bismillah Mobile Market near Khilafat Chowk when two armed men riding a motorcycle shot them in the head before fleeing.

Police said that Gulab Khan died on the spot. His son succumbed to his wounds during treatment at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

The deceased were residents of MTR Colony in Orangi Town, police added.

Meanwhile, the body of a 35-year-old woman was found in a drain in Gulshan-i-Hadeed on Friday morning.

Police said that Deve, resident of Gulshan-i-Hadeed Phase-II, went missing on Thursday evening. She had gone for shopping but never returned. Her body was found in a nearby drain the following morning.

The police shifted the body to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for a post-mortem examination. Doctors said that the body bore torture marks.

Police said that her husband, Haymandas, had also been missing for some months.

Another young woman was found dead on Friday.

Police said that Shumaila, 18, was found dead in her house in Sector 10 of Orangi Town. The police said they had detained her husband, Akram, for her parents suspected him to be behind what appeared to be a murder.

The police said the couple married about eight months back. She went to her parents’ house in Gulistan-i-Jauhar after the couple developed some differences. However, she recently returned home when her husband visited to take her back.

Meanwhile, the body of a young man was found in a deserted place in Manghopir on Friday.

Police said that the body, which remained unidentified, was found in the bushes in the Manghopir police limits. The body was believed to be at least three days old. Police shifted the body to the Civil Hospital for legal formalities.
