Algerian trade surplus grows

ALGIERS, Dec 20: Opec member Algeria’s trade surplus rose to $41.93 billion in the first 11 months of 2008 from $29.22 billion in the same period last year, official figures showed on Saturday.

Exports totalled $76.10 billion, up 40 percent from $54.18 billion in January-to-November 2007, while imports rose 37 per cent to $34.16 billion, state news agency APS said, citing the Customs National Centre for Information and Statistics.—Reuters
