KARACHI: Teenaged boy killed by brother-in-law

KARACHI, Feb 2: A 16-year-old boy was stabbed to death on Monday allegedly by the husband of his elder sister in Shadman Town.

The Sharah-i-Noorjahan police said the suspect, Masroor Khan, fled the scene after killing his wife’s younger brother, Mustafa Kamal, son of Kamal Uddin, at 4.30pm.

They said the suspect, who lived in Quetta, killed the teenaged boy after he had an altercation with his in-laws at their home.

The police registered a case (52/2009) against the suspect under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of the victim’s brother, Mujtaba Kamal.

Suspected thief killed

A 28-year-old suspected thief was killed by a security guard at Bagh-i-Malir, a housing project near Malir City.

The Al-Falah police said the private security guard of the project saw two men trying to take out the tape-recorder from the car of a resident, Jaseem Ahmed.

They said the suspects opened fire on the guard as he started approaching them. The police said the security guard, Bashir Ahmed, also returned fire with his repeater, killing one of the suspects on the spot.

They said the accomplice of the killed suspect fled the scene.

The body was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for a post-mortem examination. Sources at the hospital’s medico-legal section told Dawn that the victim received three pellets, two in the chest and one in the head.

Later, the suspect was identified as Nadir Khan, son of Sher Khan, a resident of Pathan Colony, a shantytown near Bagh-i-Malir.

The police said that no case was registered till late in the night.

Teenager stabbed

A 13-year-old student was stabbed and wounded in Docks Colony allegedly by his schoolmate.

The Jackson police said the victim, Dawood, son of Haider, was going home after school when his classmate, Ikram, son of Fazal, stabbed him and fled.

The wounded boy was taken to the Civil Hospital in a critical condition. Sources at the hospital’s medico-legal section told Dawn that the victim was in a highly precarious condition as he had received a life-threatening stab in the abdomen.

The police registered a case (87/2009) against the escaped suspect on the complaint of the victim’s father.
