Four hurt in firing on train
QUETTA, Jan 4: Four passengers were injured when armed men opened fire on the Rawalpindi-bound Jaffar Express in Nasirabad district on Sunday night.
According to sources, the train was passing through the Mangoli area when it came under attack.
Railway officials said that armed men had also attacked a pilot engine in the same area.
Baloch Republican Army’s spokesman Sarbaz Baloch claimed responsibility for the attack on the train.
He said the BRA had attacked the police bogey in the train and killed three security personnel.
He said the engine caught fire after it was hit by a rocket.
DELAYS: The people of Balochistan are facing difficulties because almost all trains have been running 10 to 12 hours behind schedule for two weeks.
Every day scores of passengers miss their trains as railways officials do not inform them the departure time.
Hundreds of people who had booked their seats in AC sleeper and lower AC coaches 15 days before travelling in Bolan Mail were unable to get seats. The passengers staged a protest at the Quetta railways station.
