Lawyers condemn Israeli atrocities

RAWALPINDI, Jan 10: Lawyers here on Saturday staged a protest rally outside district courts against the killing of innocent Palestinians by the Israeli army and silence of international community over the atrocities of the Jewish state.

Some 250 lawyers led by District Bar Association (DBA) president Sardar Tariq Masood came out of the courts and blocked the main Kachehri Chowk for about half-an-hour and raised slogans against the Israeli carnage being perpetrated against the population of Gaza and the United States of America (USA) for supporting the aggression the Jewish state.

Heavy contingent of police was present on the occasion to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incident.

Earlier, the lawyers arranged the general body meeting of the DBA and passed a resolution that condemned the Israeli attacks and criticised the United Nations (UN) for its inaction over the ruthless killings of the Palestinians.

The resolution criticised the US and Israel for showing disrespect to the concerns of international community and the UN for not taking any concrete steps to halt the massacre of the innocent people.
