Nato supplies through Chaman resumed

QUETTA, Jan 14: Supplies to Nato forces in Afghanistan through the Quetta-Kandahar highway were resumed after talks between tribesmen and the Quetta police chief on Wednesday.

The tribesmen had blocked the Quetta-Chaman highway five days ago after the killing of a son of a tribal leader in a raid conducted by the Anti- Narcotics Force.

Hundreds of trucks and oil tankers carrying supply for Nato forces in Afghanistan had been stranded since Friday along the highway between Quetta and Chaman due to the road blockade near Qila Abdullah.—Staff Correspondent
