Boy found murdered in school toilet

LAHORE, Jan 19: A boy was found murdered in toilet of his school on Kabir Road in New Anarkali police precincts on Monday morning.

Shabbir Hussain, son of Muhammad Bashir, had gone missing on Sunday. Circle DSP Naseemul Hai told Dawn that Shabbir left his residence on Sunday evening to reach the nearby mosque to learn the Holy Quran but did not return.

The family launched a search operation and inquired the prayer leader of the mosque about the boy but he expressed his ignorance about the whereabouts of the boy.

On Monday morning, staff of the Government Saint Francis High School found the body of a boy later identified as Shabbir, who studied at the same school. The DSP said the boy had been hit in the head with a blunt weapon.

He said initial examination by doctors suggested that the boy had not been molested. However, he said, the autopsy would determine the exact cause of the death and possible sexual assault. The official said the father of the boy, who was a vendor in Urdu Bazaar, had contracted two marriages.

After the death of his first wife, whom he had seven children, Bashir contracted another marriage and had three children, including the victim. The body was sent for autopsy.—Staff Reporter
