Property dispute Claims life

LAHORE, Jan 23: A young man was shot dead allegedly by his rivals over a property dispute in Green Town police precincts on Friday.

Police said 26-year-old Sarfraz Ali Gujjar, son of Rehmat Ali Gujjar, was standing near his house in suburbs of Chorus Tainki when some assailants came in a car and sprayed a volley of bullets, leaving him injured critically. Sarfraz succumbed to his wounds while being taken to hospital.

Rasheedan Bibi, mother of the victim, informed the police they had a property dispute with Rana Tufail, who had also killed her son, Karamat Ali, six weeks ago.

She said Tufail had got registered a case against her husband and her son Karamat and they both were jailed around three months ago.

Rehmat died in the jail under mysterious circumstances while Karamat was shot dead by Tufail group soon after his release on bail during reconciliation (panchyat) held to settle the property issue between the two sides.

The body was sent for an autopsy and a case was registered against Tufail and accomplices.

Two killed: Two people were killed and one was injured when a truck rammed into a bus parked at Babo Sabo bus stop in the Sherakot area on Friday.

Police said truck driver Muhammad Ashraf (34) and his conductor, Kashif (25), and he died immediately while helper Shahid was injured. According to the police, the truck driver was dozing while driving.

The injured was taken to hospital where he was stated to be in a critical condition.

In another incident, 22-year-old Nadeem, of Renala Khurd, was riding a bike on Multan Road when a bus ran over and killed him.

The bus driver, yet to be identified, fled leaving the bus at the crime scene. The Chuhng police registered a case and impounded the vehicle.
