MIRPURKHAS: Petrol turns into rare commodity

MIRPURKHAS, Feb 2: Citizens faced immense difficulties on Monday due to the non-availability of petrol and diesel as most of the filling stations have stopped sale of fuel in the wake of an expected hike in prices.

People were seen rushing from one petrol pump to the other in hope of getting fuel for their vehicles but in vain. Reports of brawl between perturbed citizens and gas stations’ staff was also reported from various parts of the city.

JAPANESE CG : Japanese Consul-General in Karachi Akinori Wada has said that his country will help in the rehabilitation of physically challenged persons in Pakistan.

He was speaking at a gathering on Monday after visiting the Gulistan-i-Mazooreen Centre. He said that Japan would extend cooperation to Pakistan for elimination of poverty and promotion of education of science and technology.

Earlier, the Japanese diplomat met District Naib Nazim Mirpurkhas Zafar Ahmed Kamali and taluka nazim Mirpurkhas Ghulam Dastagir Kamali. He also visited the Nazeer Hussain Institute of Emerging Sciences.
