PESHAWAR: More relief camps to be set up for IDPs

PESHAWAR, Feb 4: The NWFP government has decided to establish new relief camps for the people displaced by the fresh military operation in Swat.

A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting chaired by NWFP Minister for Environment Wajid Ali Khan here on Wednesday.

Besides provincial ministers Sitara Ayaz and Mohammad Ayub Khan, The meeting was also attended by members of provincial assembly, provincial relief commissioner, secretaries of home and social welfare departments, Afghan Refugees commissioner, Malakand commissioner and other officials concerned.

The meeting decided to establish new relief camps for the displaced persons at government schools in Mingora and Barikot. Besides, a tented village would be set up in Malakand for which 300 tents would be provided in two phases. — Bureau Report
