CA hopeful of Pakistan series

MELBOURNE, Feb 5: Cricket Australia (CA) says it is close to reaching an agreement with the Pakistan Cricket Board about a neutral venue for its rescheduled limited-overs series in the UAE in April-May.

CA spokesman Peter Young says the negotiations to relocate the series are well-advanced, but the details are yet to be confirmed.

“We’ve not agreed with Pakistan yet on the detail for the upcoming tour,” Young said. “We are at a very advanced stage talking to them [PCB] about locations. There has been some discussion with Pakistan about using neutral venues but we haven’t quite signed off on the detail yet, [we’re] hoping to very soon.”

He added there were still some details to be finalised. “There are a lot of issues logistically – airlines, hotels, the ICC verifying that the pitch is OK for international cricket. Safety and security.”—Agencies
