Inter-school rugby starts today

LAHORE, Feb 6: The 4th Punjab Junior Inter-school rugby championship-2009 will be held at the Garrison Degree College ground at Nishat Colony on Saturday.

The championship is being arranged by the Punjab Rugby Association in collaboration with the Pakistan Rugby Union.

This will be a full-day event being participated by students from various schools in Punjab in the U-14 and U-17 categories. A total of 24 teams are competing including 12 each in the U-14 and U-17 categories.

The teams will be divided into four pools. The pool matches will be played on a round robin basis with the one top team of each pool qualifying for the knock-out phase for the eventual winner.

Last year the winners of the

U-17 title was Government Bahawalnagar High School. Model Town High School will defend their U-14 title.
