Netherlands bulldoze Germany 7-1

CHANDIGARH, Feb 7: European champions the Netherlands eased to a 7-1 victory over World and Olympic champion Germany in the last group match of the Punjab Gold Cup hockey tournament.

The victory gives the Netherlands 14 points from six round-robin matches in the four-nation tournament.

The Dutch side had already secured a spot in the tournament final where it will face India.

Germany finished the group stage with five points.

The Dutch controlled the game from the first minute when Wouter Jolie converted a penalty corner. In the seventh minute Jeroen Hertzberger doubled the Netherlands’ lead.
