KARACHI: Sindh police chief for curbing crimes

KARACHI, Feb 8: Inspector General of Sindh Police, Salahuddin Babar Khatak, on Sunday, taking serious notice of media reports, has directed the Regional Police Officers (RPOs) of Hyderabad and Sukkur and Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Karachi, to control activities of criminal elements, including street crimes.

He further ordered to design such a strategy which can help curb the crimes, said a statement issued here.

The Provincial Police Chief further ordered patrolling by the area police squads in their respective limits and in case the SHOs fail to control crimes, they would be suspended as well as face legal action.

He also ordered effective snap checking, police van and motorcycle riders’ patrolling and keeping a close eye on the entry and exit points of the cities.

The IGP Sindh directed the CCPO Karachi to arrest those involved in extortion of businessmen and to take action against them without any fear.—APP
