Vishan faces Umer in KC snooker final

KARACHI, Feb 13: Third seed Vishan Gir pulled off a minor upset when he breezed past second seed Qasim Kamani 3-1 to reach the Karachi Club singles handicap snooker tournament final at the KC premises on Friday.

Vishan, a former runner up of National snooker championship to Naveen Perwani, conceded the opening frame 20-59 only to recover and win the following three 78-76, 65-44, 69-61.

He is slated to meet unseeded Umer Saleem who accounted for Raza Junaid in the other semi-final by the identical scoreline. Final scores were 64-52, 49-65, 68-64, 66-45.

The final will be played on Saturday at 5.00pm.

Semi-finals: Vishan Gir bt Qasim Kamani 3-1 (20-59, 78-76, 65-44, 69-61); Umer Saleem bt Raza Junaid 3-1 (64-52, 49-65, 68-64, 66-45).

Saturday’s fixtures:

Vishan Gir v Umer Saleem (final) at 5.00pm
