Tribesmen protest in Thatta against triple murder
THATTA, Feb 15: Brohi tribesmen and their leaders demanded on Sunday arrest of the killers of three Brohis and threatened to launch protest campaign if the culprits were not arrested.
The tribesmen who had come from different parts of Sindh and Balochistan took out a procession. Led by Rauf Sasoli, Sardar Mohammed Umer Bangulzai and Sardar Pir Bux Brohi they marched to the press club where they staged a sit-in.
Mr Sasoli said that killing of Moula Bux Brohi, Khuda Bux Brohi and Abbas Brohi in broad daylight in Daro town three days ago and police failure to arrest the killers might trigger tribal clashes in the district.
He announced schedule for protest drive if their demands were not fulfilled, according to which, the tribesmen would observe a token hunger strike on Feb 20 and give call for shutter-down strike in all districts of the province on Feb 22.
LANGUAGE: Speakers at a book-launching ceremony on Sunday demanded that the government declare Sindhi as national language and urged the nationalists to get involved in parliamentary politics.
Ghulam Hussain Rangraiz, Yousuf Sindhi, Prof Qalandar Shah Lakyari and Mariam Majeedi were speaking at the book-launching of Nawaz Zaunr’s jail dairy at the press club.
