QUETTA: Zhob police seize weapons, says IGP
QUETTA, Jan 2: Balochistan's Inspector General of Police, Dr Shoiab Suddle has said that a huge quantity of weapons and explosive materials was seized in Zhob, but the traffickers escaped from the scene.
Speaking at press conference here on Thursday night he said that Zhob police recovered the arms and ammunitions during the search of a vehicle at Sherani Bazaar.
The weapons seized included 100 landmines, five rocket launchers, three light machine-guns, 30 mortar shells and fuzes, and 15,000 rounds of ammunition. The smugglers escaped from the scene. Dr Suddle said this was the third big cache of weapons that police seized within one year in Balochistan.
OPPOSITION LEADER: The opposition leader in the provincial assembly, Kachkol Ali Baloch, has said that Balochistan and the NWFP have not reposed confidence in President Gen Musharraf as majority of the parliamentarians have abstained from the voting process.
He said that the legislators of the two provinces were against one man rule.In a statement issued here on Friday, he said that the president was no more a constitutional president as majority of the lawmakers had decided not to cast vote in favour of Gen Musharraf.
He criticized the MMA leadership saying that on one hand it had supported the 17th constitutional amendment and on the other abstained from voting in favour of Gen Musharraf.
