GUJRANWALA: Youth shot dead for resisting robbery

GUJRANWALA, Jan 8: A youth was shot dead by robbers on Thursday for resisting their bid. Four robbers sneaked into the house of Latif in Cheema Colony, Wazirabad, by scaling boundary wall. They collected Rs100,000 in cash and 15 tolas of gold ornament.

In the meantime, house owner's son Bilal overpowered one of the robbers but his accomplices opened fire on him killing him on the spot. Two bandits sneaked into house of Riaz Ahmad in Jinnah Town, Ghakkhar, and escaped with 12 tolas of gold, cash and other valuables. They tied the family members with ropes before fleeing.

Four burglars entered the house of expatriate Nasir Ahmad on Circular Road, Wazirabad. They locked the family in a room, collected Rs200,000 in cash, 18 tolas of gold ornaments and other valuables and escaped with the booty.

Three gunmen deprived doctors and para-medical staff of a private hospital on Jinnah Road of Rs25,000. Five robbers snatched Rs200,000 in cash from poultry farmers Khalid and Imran in Banke Cheema village.

MURDER: A cousin of Jamaat-i-Islami's Wazirabad amir was shot dead by two unidentified motorcyclists on Thursday. Imran Butt, 25, a cousin of JI amir Sabir Butt, was on his way home from a market. When he reached near his house, the motorcyclists sprayed him with bullets, killing him instantly.

It is stated that Imran was involved in the murder of four people and was released a few days ago after mediation with the aggrieved family.
