GUJRANWALA, Jan 8: The anti-terrorism court No 1 ordered on Thursday, during hearing of the Sialkot jail incident case, that the three doctors of the Civil Hospital who showed negligence in the treatment of judges should be charge sheeted and a report be submitted before the court on next date of hearing on Jan 19.

Judge Iftikhar Husain Shah rejected the plea of complainant Advocate Ghulam Abbas, the father of slain judge Shehar Yar Bukhari, for seeking the Lahore High Court fact-finding committee report regarding the Sialkot jail incident or considering it a part of the case.

The Sialkot civil line SHO informed the court that the Gujranwala's former DIG could not be arrested as the federal government had not given a go-ahead for his arrest. However, the court issued a show-cause notice and sought his reply on the next hearing.

The Sialkot district attorney said police had failed to remove the remaining nine objections on the chargesheet so far. The court also adjourned the bail plea of Sialkot jail's three former assistant superintendents - Akhtar Iqbal, Raja Mushtaq and Ghulam Rasool - for Jan 19.

BAIL ACCEPTED: The bail application of two women involved in supplying arms to some accused in the lock-up in Narowal was accepted by the local anti-terrorism court No 1 on Thursday.

According to the prosecution, the Narowal city police arrested some proclaimed offenders some three months ago and detained them in the police station. Their relative women, Zenat Bibi and Aisha Bibi, supplied them arms in the police station and they escaped after breaking the lock-up.

BAR MEMBER: District Bar Association member Advocate Mohammad Latif Rana moved the district and sessions judge on Thursday and pleaded that the allotment of chambers to lawyers should be cancelled as the Bar had failed to entertain various members' applications despite depositing the security fee in time. The court accepted his petition for hearing and adjourned the case.
