FAISALABAD: Man, sister axed to death over land dispute

FAISALABAD, Jan 14: A man and his sister were axed to death while his other sister injured allegedly by their cousins over a property dispute in Chak 604-GB in Tandlianwala tehsil on Tuesday night.

Noor Samad and Sakhawat had occupied a piece of land owned by their cousin Haleema. They had been involved in litigation and the accused were using delaying tactics.

On Tuesday, Rajab, the brother of Haleema, asked the accused to vacate the land but they attacked him with axes, killing him on the spot. Later, they entered the house of Rajab and injured his sisters Anwar and Haleema.

They were rushed to a hospital where Anwar died soon after arrival. Haleema was stated to be out of danger. Bahlak police have registered a case on the complaint of Haleema. No arrest has so far been made.
