BAHAWALPUR: Revenue staff 'seeking bribe'
BAHAWALPUR, Jan 16: The applicants for the agricultural land allotment under the Punjab chief minister's scheme have accused the revenue officials at Yazman of demanding illegal gratification.
A number of applicants, who had also demonstrated against the revenue staff the other day, alleged that the officials were charging Rs100 from each of the applicant.
Former MP Chaudhry Khalid Mahmood Jajja said the tehsildar concerned was not receiving applications without money and the clerical staff openly asking for Rs100 for each application.
He said they had brought the matter into the notice of Yazman deputy district officer (revenue) and EDO (revenue), Bahawalpur, who assured of redress of their complaints and action against the officials.
