RAWALPINDI: Three killed in separate incidents

RAWALPINDI, Jan 18: Three persons were killed in separate incidents in Islamabad on Sunday, police said. In the first incident, two persons were killed after being run over by a speeding wagon on Lehtrar Road, Bharakahu.

The police said Masood Ahmed and Mohammad Miskeen were standing on the roadside when a wagon (AJKC-5400) knocked them down. As a result, both the persons were killed on the spot.

The wagon driver was taken into custody, however, the relatives of the deceased pardoned him. In the second incident, one person was allegedly killed by his rival in fruit market, I-11 on Sunday, the police said.

Abdullah, a resident of I-11/4, told the I-9 police that he was on his way home when he saw Farooq Khan quarrelling with Hayatullah. "First Farooq Khan fired on Hayatullah and later stabbed him," he stated in his report filed with the police.

Hayatullah was killed on the spot, while the alleged killer escaped from the scene. The police said the motive behind the murder was not known yet.
