RAWALPINDI: Two get death sentence in murder case

RAWALPINDI, Jan 27: A court here on Tuesday handed down capital punishment to two persons for killing a money-changer during a robbery attempt in Sadiqabad.

The additional district and sessions judge, Malik Akram Awaan, also imposed a Rs100,000 fine each on the two convicts, Abdul Razaq and Ahmed Khan. According to the prosecution, the convicts killed Rafiuddin in his shop after he refused to hand over Rs2 million.

The court also awarded two years rigorous imprisonment each to both the convicts for committing the robbery. They will also have to pay an additional fine of Rs50,000 each, the court observed.
