FAISALABAD: Networking project for Faisalabad GCU okayed
FAISALABAD, Jan 27: The Higher Education Commission has approved a project of networking and computerization for the Government College University, Faisalabad, using optical fibre worth Rs34.021 million.
A university spokesman said after the implementation of this project the capabilities of the administrative and academic departments would improve. It will also enable the university to develop a centralized database for research students and employees of the university besides a database for the local industry in order to provide trained and skilled manpower.
Killed: A group of armed men shot dead their opponent and injured his friend on the premises of Jaranwala tehsil courts on Tuesday. Rana Azam Khan of Chak 91 RB was going to attend court proceeding along with his friend Asif when they were stopped by the gang. They shot at and injured Rana Azam and Asif and fled firing in the air. The injured were taken to the THQ Hospital where Rana Azam was pronounced. The condition of Asif was critical.
Jaranwala police said Rana Azam was involved in a number of murder and attempted murder cases. No case has so far been registered. Police claimed that they have not yet received any complaint in this regard.
