SIALKOT: Trader shot dead for resisting robbers

SIALKOT, Jan 28: A trader was shot dead and two people were injured when they resisted robbers here on Wednesday. A Quetta-based trader, Soorat Khan, was shot dead by two robbers in Sungarwali-Satrah village in Daska tehsil.

In Kotli Behram, gunmen shot at and injured motorcyclists, Khalid and Hafeez, when they resisted a bid to snatch Rs200,000 in cash. However, robbers escaped with the cash.

The injured were admitted to hospital in critical condition. Three robbers took away thousands of rupees in cash, ornaments and other valuables from the passengers of a bus near Bhlair Bajwa village.

They opened fire on another bus when its driver turned it back. However, all the passengers escaped unhurt. They made an announcement regarding the highway robbery through a mosque loudspeaker. The robbers forced all the passengers to get off the bus and escaped on it.

Four gunmen snatched Rs50,000 in cash from Muhammad Sharif, a salesman of a gas agency, in Sambrial. Two armed men deprived Latif and his cousin, Shamin Bano, of gold ornaments, cash and a mobile phone set in Uchiyaan Kharoliyan village.

Three bandit drove away with the motorcycle (STE-1838) of Idrees in Waan-Begowala village. Ten outlaws stormed into the house of Canada returned Nadeem Shah and took away gold ornaments, Pakistan and Canadian currencies and other valuables worth Rs1.2 million in Kotli Loharan town here.
