THATTA: Law against Karo-kari soon, says minister

THATTA, Jan 29: Sindh Planning and Development Minister Shoaib Bukhari has said the government will soon move a bill in the Sindh Assembly against Karo-kari.

Speaking at a gathering at the Makli circuit house here on Wednesday, the minister said Sindh had remained a victim of tribal customs and traditions. About compensation to rain victims, the minister said payments to the people whose houses were damaged would be made after Eid.

LAND: The afforestation wing of the district forest department has moved the district revenue authorities not to register a disputed fertile land pending under litigation. The land measuring 2,000 acres was situated in Thatta, Jati and Shah Bunder talukas. The land is being entered as the Qabooli in revenue record.
