MULTAN: Woman shot dead over suspicion

MULTAN, Feb 8: A young woman was shot dead allegedly by her brother here on Sunday in the name of honour as her family suspected that she had illicit relations with a neighbour.

Parveen was murdered at Mauza Sanjanpur in the jurisdiction of Seetal Marri police on the day of marriage of her brother Nasir. Her family had suspicions that she had illicit relations with one Nazeer Ramzan.

Initially the family claimed that she had fallen prey to aerial firing, but neighbours spilled the beans. According to them, Parveen actively took part in the Hina ceremony of her brother the previous night and disappeared later on.

In the evening she was reported to have been shot dead accidentally by her brother Jaffar. The police have arrested Jaffar and are investigating the matter without formally registering a case.
