KHAIRPUR: 28 towns declared sensitive areas

KHAIRPUR, Feb 24: Twenty eight towns and cities of the district have been declared sensitive during the month of Moharram. DPO Fateh Sheer Joyo, while speaking at a press conference here on Tuesday, said Rangers and army had been called to help the police in maintaining law and order in the sensitive areas which include Khairpur city, Thehri, Piryalo, Faiz Wah, Kolab Jail, Khuhra, Gadeji, Abu Bakar Machhi, Seth Areja and Bhango Bhehan.

He said the army would be stationed in Khairpur and Gambat and would be deployed if and when needed, however, the Rangers would accompany the police during the mourning procession while adding that section 144 CrPC had been enforced in the district.

Later, a flag march was taken out in the lead of the DPO which marched through Khairpur, Thehri and Piryalo towns.
