GUJRANWALA: 4m CNICs lying at post offices - Nadra DG
GUJRANWALA, March 15: Around 4 million prepared computerized national identity cards are lying at various post offices for distribution, according to National Database and Registration Authority Director-General Brig Mirza Baber Aziz Baig.
Speaking at a one-window operation of the local registration office at the Municipal Complex here on Monday, he pointed out that capacity of preparing the computerized cards here had been enhanced up to 600 cards from 400 cards daily. He said Nadra would issue first computerized passport on Sept 15.
DOCTORS' SHORTAGE: The Pakistan Medical Association has expressed concern over the shortage of doctors and other facilities at rural health centres and the DHQ Hospital.
Speaking at a seminar here on Monday, speakers including DCO Fazeel Asghar, PPP MNA Imranullah Chaudhry and PMA president Dr Zahid Mian, said some 25 rural health centres were running without in-charge doctors. They demanded that the government should appoint qualified doctors at the RHCs and the DHQ Hospital at the earliest.
BURIED: The body of the boy who was electrocuted at the Ghulsan Iqbal Park on Sunday was handed over to the family on Monday. Later, he was buried in the local graveyard.
