KARACHI, March 17: Skipper Shaiza Khan with her nine wickets haul including a hat trick has put Pakistan in strong position in the one-off women cricket Test against West Indies at National Stadium on Wednesday despite a fighting century by Nadine Gregory.

Shaiza produced career best figures of seven wickets for 59 runs with her leg breaks to spin out West Indies for 147 in their first innings after they have resumed at overnight score of 72 for five wickets.

Forced the follow-on, West Indies were 230 for four wickets in their second innings on third day in the four-day match. They required another 49 runs to make Pakistan bat again.

Pakistan women's declared their first innings at 426 for seven wickets in their first innings. George had to retire due to muscle problem soon after reaching her hundred. Her 150-ball knock of 100 in 189 minutes was laced with 13 hits to the ropes.

Shaiza is the second player to perform hat trick. Late Betty Wilson achieved the distinction for Australia against England in 1957-58. Shaiza removed Verena Felicien (47) and Doris Francis (0) on the last two balls of her 14th over and got rid of Stephanie Power (19) on the first ball of her 15th over to perform the feat.
