RAWALPINDI: Woman, daughter assaulted
RAWALPINDI, March 21: Two men raped a woman and her daughter at gunpoint in Westridge and also looted cash and valuables. After the police refused to register an FIR, the victims approached the area magistratefor registration of the case.
"The story narrated by the woman seems to be untrue; however, an FIR has been registered on the directives of the court," a police official told Dawn. The woman in her complaint said that she along with her children was present at her home when at midnight two persons, who were later identified as Arshad and Arif, forcibly entered the house. Their accomplice carrying a Kalashnikov stood ouside.
"The two men sexually assaulted me and my daughter at gunpoint. They also took away Rs5,000 in cash and a television set," the woman said in her FIR lodged with the Westridge police.
When the investigating officer was contacted, he said none of the accused had been arrested so far. "However, some ministers' visiting cards have been recovered from the two women who were hurling threats on the police when they came to lodge the FIR," he said.
Meanwhile, Jamil Akhtar told the Westridge police that ten persons booked his wagon (RPT-6672) for going to Jauhar Chowk. On reaching their, they dragged him out on gunpoint and tied his hands with a rope and took away the vehicle and Rs4,000 in cash.
