BAHAWALPUR: No gas supply for six hours
BAHAWALPUR, March 23: The Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Company stopped the gas supply to thousands of consumers without any prior announcement on Tuesday. The gas supply was stopped at 9am due to the laying of a pipeline in the Mailawali Gali near Himyatian Basti which was resumed after about six hours.
The affected consumers have demanded an action against the officials responsible for the suspension of gas supply without any information.
PROTEST: The PML-N organized a protest camp at Fowara Chowk against what it called violation of ideology of Pakistan. The leaders alleged that the government had failed to preserve the ideology of Pakistan.
The participants in the camp displayed banners and raised slogans. It may be noted that the district government did not organize any function to mark the Pakistan Day.
BYPOLLS: The administration has set up 352 polling stations with 395 polling booths for March 28 bypolls on 81 vacant union council seats in the district.
Polling will be held on 81 seats as 27 candidates have already been declared elected unopposed unofficially. Meanwhile, 352 presiding officers along with 704 assistant presiding officers and polling officers have been named to conduct polling on March 28.
