HYDERABAD: Hyderabad board exams begin
HYDERABAD, April 20: The annual examinations of class-XI and XII began on Tuesday in eight districts in the jurisdiction of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Hyderabad.
When contacted by telephone, the BISE controller of examinations told this correspondent that no untoward incident was reported from any examination centre. He said that 124 examination centre, 89 for boys and 35 for girls, had been set up in different colleges of the eight districts.
He said that 77,945 students, 39,997 of class-XI and 37,948 of class-XII, were appearing in the examination. The controller said that 15 vigilance teams - five for Hyderabad, two each for Dadu, Sanghar and Mirpurkhas and one each for Badin, Nawabshah, Tharparkar and Thatta districts had been formed to pay surprise visits to the examination centres and check malpractice if any.
He said that a monitoring cell had also been set up in the board office to deal with complaints or any emergency situation.
RALLY: On the second day of the International Educational Week, a motor rally was taken out here on Tuesday from the office of the EDO, education. The rally, led by EDO Abdul Majeed Hur, after passing through Hirabad, Market, Tilak Charhi and Station Road, ended at the press club.
