THATTA: DPSC chief accused of land grabbing

THATTA, April 30: District Public Safety Commission chairman Syed Dilshad Shah has bulldozed some five huts belonging to members of the Brohi tribe with police help to grab the land on which the tribe has resided since generations.

This was alleged by Lakhano, Ibrahim, Amu, Biroo and others of Faqiro Brohi village while complaining about the alleged highhandedness at the local press club on Thursday. Later, a group of activists of the People's Party Parliamentarians visited the site in the lead of PPP district president Syed Masood Mustafa Shah and urged the villagers to raise voice for their rights.

SHOT DEAD: A farmer, Ghulam Rasool, 30, son of Mohammad Hashim, was shot dead on resisting a robbery attempt at Ali Gohar Shah Bhadai bus stop near Ghorabari town on Thursday evening.

The farmer was returning home after selling his produce in Karachi when five armed robbers intercepted him and tried to take his money, the police said, adding that one of the robbers shot him dead on resisting. The police have registered a case and are tracking the culprits.
