HYDERABAD: 3rd LUMHS convocation held

HYDERABAD, May 10: Professor Emeritus Ali Mohammad Ansari of the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences has exhorted medical graduates to serve the ailing humanity with dedication and devotion and without discrimination.

Speaking as chief guest at the third LUMHS Convocation at the Jamshoro campus on Monday, Professor Ansari, also former principal of the Liaquat Medical College, reminded the graduates of the Hippocratic Oath and said that if taken seriously, it would guide them in performing their duties without discrimination.

He said doctors had the responsibility of giving hope to their patients besides health and happiness and added that they should opt for serving humanity in backward and rural areas while observing medical ethics and Islamic teachings.

In his presidential address, vice-chancellor Professor Jan Mohammad Memon, while dwelling on the achievements of the university during the past three years, highlighted the development work being carried out in the university for imparting quality education and research opportunities.

Later, MBBS and BDS degrees were conferred on the graduates while gold, silver and bronze medals were also awarded to outstanding graduates. Doctors Dilip Kumar and Farheen Raza were declared best MBBS and BDS graduates respectively.
