NAROWAL: Eight killed in bus crash

NAROWAL, May 16: Eight people were killed and 15 others sustained injuries, four of them serious, when a speeding bus plunged into a ditch near Karkeke Morr on Narowal-Shakargarh Road on Sunday morning.

The Lahore-bound bus (FDV-9286) driver, Falak Sher, lost control over the steering while overtaking a trailer at high speed. Consequently, eight passengers died instantly while 15 suffered critical wounds. They were admitted to the local DHQ Hospital.

The six dead were identified as Tara Khan, Irshad and Riaz of Kotla Kahloan village, Liaquat Ali of Gujranwala and Shahbaz, Kaki Bibi of Maryal village. The bodies of the two others were taken away by their relatives.

Those injured were include conductor Boota, Bushra Bibi, Parveen, Naziran Bibi, Nasreen, Shaukat, Shafi, Tufail, Asif, Zainab, Rasheeda, Fazilat, Rashida.
