HYDERABAD, May 17: A meeting between the district administration and the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal decided on Monday that General Post Office authorities would seek help from the Islamic Ideology Council to resolve the mosque issue before May 23.

The MMA delegation, including MNA Abul Khair Mohammad Zubair, MPA Rehman Rajput, Abdul Waheed Qureshi and Taj Mohammad Nahyoon, called on District Nazim Dr Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman at his office. DCO Mohammad Hussain Syed, DPO A. D. Khwaja and Sindh postmaster general Mohammad Ahmad Mian were also present on the occasion.

A press release of the MMA issued here said that during the meeting the Nazim also talked to the secretary for communications in Islamabad by telephone.

The meeting decided that by coming Sunday the IIC chairman would be invited to Hyderabad to visit the mosque and hold talks with MMA leaders and if it was not done, the DPO would order conversion of a non-cognisable case, already lodged with the Cantonment police, into a formal FIR. In the meantime, construction of the mosque would also begin.
