NAWABSHAH: Hottest day of season in Sindh

NAWABSHAH, May 18: Dozens of people fell unconscious as the temperature rose to 49 degree Centigrade here on Tuesday. The people who fainted were taken to different hospitals in the district.

Business activities were affected as people remained indoor due to the sizzling heat. Children went to Gujrah and other canal branches to beat the heat.

RECOVERED: A food department team recovered 220 bags of wheat from a truck (DJK-779) on the National Highway in Sabu Rahu here on Monday night. The truck driver, Ghulam Sarwar Darikhel, told the team that he was taking the wheat to Karachi.

The Sakrand police arrested the driver and registered an FIR on the complaint of food inspector Subhan Khan.

LARKANA: The district on Tuesday experienced the hottest day of the season as the temperature rose to 49.2 degree Centigrade. Roads and streets wore a deserted look as people remained indoor. Some people who suffered heatstroke were hospitalized.

CPSP: The regional office of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan would temporarily be established in the Chandka Medical College, Larkana, said Surgeon Sikandar Shaikh here on Tuesday.

He said that later a permanent office would be established adjacent to the CMC for which a piece of land had been acquired.

SALARY DEMANDED: Teachers working under the middle school project held a demonstration outside the press club here on Tuesday, demanding release of their five-month salaries.
