OKARA: ACE circle office opened

OKARA, May 24: The Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) is planning appointment of deputy directors and assistant directors at the district level to improve the working of the department.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the newly-built building of the ACE circle office here on Monday, director-general Brig Muhammad Aslam Ghumman (retired) said an intelligence wing was being set up to monitor the officials' performance.

"We have taken up complaints about the police and the revenue departments' corruption as a challenge and are posting well-reputed officers in this connection." The director-general said besides increase in the salaries of the employees, transport facility would also be provided to them.

CHARAS SEIZED: Police recovered 20 kilogram charas and arrested two drug pushers here on Monday. The police, on a tip-off, checked a car (SLF-388) on the Gama Wahgra village road near Basirpur, seized 20 packets of the contraband and nabbed Fazal-i-Rabbi of Peshawar and Talib Husain of Okara.
